About Whitmore Law Office
Tom Whitmore, principal of the firm, was educated at Creighton University where he received a bachelor’s degree in business administration as well as his degree in law. He has over 45 years experience as a business and commercial attorney, having begun his career in 1969 as an associate at a prominent Omaha business law firm. Whitmore Law Office was founded ten years later, after Mr. Whitmore gained significant experience working with large business clients in both corporate and private practice settings. As a result, the firm is well equipped to handle corporate matters of all kinds, from organization of entities and acquisition of businesses to sale of assets and dissolution.
Our Law Firm offers a complete estate planning service, featuring living trusts and probate avoidance where appropriate. We have experience with estates of all sizes, and we are knowledgeable in preparation of simple and complex wills and trusts and more advanced estate planning techniques. Our estate planning service provides analysis and development of a specific plan that is tailored to the client’s individual needs, rather than prescribing the same plan for everyone.
In some cases, proper disposition of property upon death is the paramount concern, while in others the foremost objective might be reduction of taxes; assuring sufficient estate liquidity; guardianship/custody of minor children; or planning for the care of beneficiaries with special needs. There may be business interests that require careful succession planning.
In addition, we are staffed to efficiently and promptly handle probate and estate matters, as well as guardianship or conservatorship, if needed for a family member who may be unable, because of minority, developmental disability, advanced years or ill health, to manage his or her own affairs.
